Reese Witherspoon primarily lives in the Los Angeles area, and the town of Ojai — popular with entertainment industry denizens — is about a two-hour drive away.
Reese Witherspoon's Ojai property covers seven acres, and is known as Libbey Ranch; it includes a four-bedroom main house, which was originally designed by Wallace Neff as a barn. Also: there are horse stables, three guest cottages, a carriage house and swimming pool.

In a word, gorgeous. “What I love about it is that it is so period and it has so much character and charm to it,” says Billy Rose, president of The Agency, who has the $10 million listing for Reese Witherspoon's Ojai property. “There is century-old hardware and fixtures that were forged on the property — it is just so authentic.”
Reese Witherspoon bought the estate in early 2008 from prominent interior designer Kathryn Ireland, who had undertaken a renovation of the compound originally built for glassware magnate Edward Libbey circa 1923. Another fun fact: The property also has been owned by actor/director Harold Ramis.

Reese Witherspoon's Spanish Colonial estate went up for sale Sept. 17, several months after she and CAA talent agent Jim Toth staged their wedding on the equestrian property (which was also featured on the September cover of Elle Décor).
Billy Rose, president of The Agency (who has the listing, says the compound is home to a “menagerie of animals,” including horses, pigs, dogs and chickens. "It's down this country lane and very much secreted away but very much connected to the heart of Ojai."

Beyond Reese Witherspoon and previous owner Harold Ramis, Libbey Ranch has another notable Hollywood connection: it doubled as Shangri-La in Frank Capra's 1937 film Lost Horizon.
When Reese Witherspoon married CAA agent Jim Toth at her Ojai estate in March, wedding guests included: the actress' first husband Ryan Phillippe; Scarlett Johansson; Sean Penn; Alyssa Milano; Tobey Maguire; Robert Downey Jr. and Renée Zellweger.
During Reese Witherspoon’s four-year ownership tenure, Jay Griffith, a well-known Venice-based landscape architect, redesigned the grounds.
